In 2019, the development potential of China's service industry was continuously released, and the added value of the service industry increased by 6.9% year-on-year, laying a good foundation for the rapid growth of service exports. Total service exports accounted for 36.1% of total service imports and exports, up 2 percentage points year-on-year. The growth rate of service exports was 9.3 percentage points higher than that of imports, which helped reduce the service trade deficit by 10.5 percentage points to 1502.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 176 billion yuan.
　　The structure of trade in services was significantly optimized. In 2019, China's import and export of knowledge intensive services reached 1877.77 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.8%, 8 percentage points higher than the overall growth of service import and export, accounting for 34.7% of the total service import and export, a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percentage points. Among them, the export of knowledge intensive services reached 991.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.4%, accounting for 50.7% of the total service export, a year-on-year increase of 2 percentage points; The import of knowledge intensive services reached 886.09 billion yuan, an increase of 8% year-on-year, accounting for 25.6% of the total service import, an increase of 2 percentage points year-on-year. In terms of specific areas, personal cultural and entertainment services, telecommunications, computer and information services, and financial services continued to grow rapidly, with import and export growth rates of 19.4%, 18.9%, and 18.7% respectively.
